The Silent Files - Destruction Of The Old Identity - Part 1

The Silent Files - Destruction of the Identity Part 1

Release Your Identity Part 1

(This post was left in the 'not good enough' pile of drafts in 2011, so much has changed since I posted, a re-birthing did take place and I became an author)

The only way out is through. I have heard this saying a few times lately.

The spiritual journey has many twists and turns and then you come to a place, after much dissolving, after much shedding of what and who we thought we were to something even deeper. The real shedding and crumbling of one's identity.

When life keeps providing us with space, alone time and we have only ourselves for company we have no choice but to go through the experience.

Saying Goodbye To Old Pleasures

Sometimes, everything that gave us pleasure, validation, upliftment simply leaves us. Or rather it is still there, the potential of it is there, but it no longer lights the fire within. We discover the 'outside' no longer distracts from the inner movements taking place.

And when the identity begins to shift and crumble, naturally resistance arises.

The ego, the mind, likes control. The outer world is food for the ego. If we no longer wish to look to those around us for attention and we no longer want to 'try' to be 'special' or 'important' the ego fights tooth and nail with the process going on within.

I guess it is what is supposed to happen, because it is happening.

If I get feedback from others it's nice, but it doesn't give me the kick or boost it used to. So all the things that do this for many humans don't do it for me any more because of the death of the old identity taking place.

In The Void

Mike, with whom I live, said we are both going through a similar process. He said he saw an image and said we were like trapeze artists swinging from one trapeze to the next and right now we are in the no-where place between them, where no-thing can give us a sense of safety or comfort.

We have lots of potential for temporary ego comfort in life. We can socialise and enjoy the company of people and get a buzz from interaction - yet it's temporary - that feeling soon dissipates.

We can watch TV, get involved with our children, with family dramas, eat food, drink, work lots, all temporary boosts.

I know deep down there is gold within me. A divine quality I am yet to face. The worldly distractions need to be removed so I can really face who I am.

Are you ready to face you?
