One day, while considering this, I was reminded that everything is in perfect timing, including emotions such as frustration and resistance. We want to be rid of the resistance and we feel that the resistance is holding us back from manifesting our hearts' desire. But perhaps there is a far easier way to look at this.
Frustration is a parachute but this is not a bad thing to have.
Imagine your riding a motorbike and that motorbike is your life, your unique experience of living. The road is the bigger picture, the entirety of creation spread before you in all directions. You're zooming along, and up ahead is the man or woman you are to fall in love with, or the opportunity for a new business, or any other desire you have. If you are hurtling along at warp speed, you're going to leave the opportunities by the roadside. But fortunately, you have this magical parachute that pops out at just the exact time to slow your journey down and you meet that person or you see that opportunity.
And that parachute is often wrongly labelled as frustration, resistance and being stuck. Yet none of us can see the full picture of our own existence; none of us can see that frustration is our own personal parachute.
Now, many writers of the Law of Attraction, creating your reality ways of thinking, may encourage you to release that resistance and then you will get what you want. But perhaps the direction you want to go in is not as amazing as the bigger picture ahead of you. And your lover, your business, your good health, that dream will arrive when it arrives, and not a moment before.
Perhaps true surrender is surrendering to the resistance and frustration saying:
"Welcome resistance, it's okay."
"Welcome frustration, it's okay."
"Welcome stuckness, it's okay."
All that 'is' is okay.
Now I know what some of you may be thinking because I often have similar thoughts.
"I have been doing this for sooooo long now and nothing has changed - nothing! I don't know if I can keep going; this road seems awfully long and there's no fulfillment of my desires in sight!"
But has truly nothing changed?
Has your perception of you changed or of your world changed?
Are you seeing the world differently. No matter how large or small these changes are, they are still changes.
That famous quote says:
"Be the change you wish to see in the world."
(Gandhi - tweaked a little)
I feel this famous quote goes a lot deeper than on the surface.
Your World Changes - Inside You!
Your world changes inside of you. You have millions of memories playing, programmes affecting your outer reality. It does take time to shift those memories, to change the inside. And not until we are truly ready. When you are ready, life changes on the outside as the inside changes. But we need to open ourselves to answering some deeper questions inside. And realise that not everyone is ready to change. Our responsibility is just to take care of our own inner world.
Ask yourself the following questions:
- What do I get from feeling this way?
- What benefits do I get from staying where I am?
- Am I ready for this change I desire, or do I get something else from staying here?
We all have programmes playing that may seem unchangeable. We have conditioned thinking that can be tricky to change and can take time and discipline to make peace with. For example someone you know may have a health condition (physical and/or mental). You feel you can see what they need to do to change things, and you offer a solution. They appear keen to put it into practice, but after a few weeks or longer they haven't made any changes. This is because where they are is where they need to be. For whatever reason, we can never know the ways of another, or the reasons their soul chose their experiences. We can only change ourselves, and how we perceive our inner world, and then our outer world mirrors this change.
With Ho'oponopono, which I recently began doing, I became aware that the entire world is inside me (see HERE for more on Ho'oponopono). If I see another with a problem, I am responsible for my experience of them. I clean using the statements: 'I love you, please forgive me, thank you, I am sorry." This cleaning is all I do, and divinity takes care of erasing any memories in me that have created my experience of this person. This can mean that the person changes, heals or moves on, or they don't change, but my perception changes so much that I am no longer affected by that person. This is deep responsibility and not always easy to do.
So for many reasons we allow change or we don't.
We cannot force change; in the same way that we cannot force a flower to grow or a tree to drop its leaves. It does so naturally when it is ready to take that action, when the time is right.
We may intellectually feel ready for change, but dig a little deeper and we may have something inside that is not ready and that is when the parachute pops out to slow us down, and it may appear we have stopped or are stuck, but we are merely gathering momentum, allowing ourselves to assimilate all we have discovered, and all that we need to absorb into who we are becoming, who we are growing into.
And beating ourselves up, telling ourselves we are stuck and and feeling angry may not help us, but this too may also be part of the parachute, part of our personal growth and expansion, and a necessary part.
Once you begin to unravel the answers deep inside, life changes. But, the inside always comes first..
These inner changes may come quickly or slowly. Sometimes we are simply not ready for the BIG changes, but smaller ones are perfect. We don't need to frighten our inner child with big changes until we are absolutely ready.
Remember you may be chopping down the smaller trees of conditioned thinking first, before you can get to the root, and this is all okay.
Are you ready?
What benefits do you receive from being where you are?
And can you be okay with not being ready for change?
